Description of the field

Programmer and setter of machining on CNC machines and laser burning. Focus on serial, piece and custom production by turning, drilling, milling and laser burning, operating CNC machines. The CNC Machining and Laser Burning course then prepares students for precision work with metals and other materials. CNC machining is an automated method of manufacturing parts where precise machine setup and programming knowledge are important.

• Technical drawing, reading drawings, standardization
• Laser machining and burning technology, tools and cutting materials
• Materials and production of semi-finished products, assessment and determination of the machinability class of materials
• Knowledge of various types of machine tools and laser machines, their setup, operation and maintenance
• Creation of technological procedures of production on basic types of machine tools and laser machines
• Knowledge of selection and setting of cutting and burning conditions
• Choosing the right tool and its maintenance
• Adjustment of tools in tool holders, determination of corrections
• Different ways of clamping tools and workpieces
• Operation and maintenance of state-of-the-art CNC machine tools with Heidenhain, Siemens Sinumerik and Fanuc control systems
• Processing of technological procedure, setup sheet and tooling sheet
• Acquiring basic knowledge of computer technology and CNC programming methods
• Preparation of part production program, program testing on CNC machine and laser
• Setup, operation and maintenance of CNC machines and lasers
• Inspection and measurement of manufactured parts, dependence of cutting and burning conditions
